We are presenting you here a fine and rare vintage Zenith El Primero

Chronograph from ca 1969\1970

Case: Steel, 37 mm

Magnificent patina dial

Rare and fine collector watch

The El Primero emerged during the fierce race to develop the first automatic chronograph, alongside efforts from Seiko (with the 6139) and the Chronomatic Group (Heuer, Breitling, Hamilton-Buren, and Dubois Dépraz). Zenith’s El Primero was the only one to feature such a high beat rate—and continues to be in production today.

When Zenith was nearly dismantled during the quartz crisis, watchmaker Charles Vermot famously hid the El Primero plans and tools in the attic of the manufacture. His foresight allowed Zenith to revive the movement in the 1980s
