Hungarian-born French painter of geometric abstractions who became one of the leading figures of the Op art movement, Vasarely developed his style of geometric abstract art, working in various materials but using a minimal number of forms and colours.

He used disorientating effects in his artwork to create often impossible images to the human eye, such as these Vasarely prints and sculptures, including Vasarely's Zebras for which he is renowned.
