An exceptionally rare oversized chronograph by Ulysse Nardin, representing one of the most striking and collectible designs of the mid-20th century.

This jumbo 39 mm stainless-steel case — unusually large for its time — gives the watch a bold, sporty presence on the wrist while preserving a refined, classic elegance. The case stands out for its magnificent double “cornes-de-vaches” (horn-shaped) lugs, beautifully curved and sculpted, creating a sense of architectural harmony. These lugs are extremely rare and highly sought-after among vintage collectors.

The original dial presents a superb, even patina, perfectly matched with the tritium luminous Arabic numerals and hands. It features two uncommon sub-dials positioned at 12 and 9 o’clock, a configuration seldom seen, adding both character and visual balance. The outer ring displays a telemeter scale and a tachymeter scale (graduated from 1000 to 60), reinforcing its military-instrument identity while preserving aesthetic refinement.

The manual-winding chronograph movement is fully signed Ulysse Nardin Locle Suisse, as are the dial and case, confirming its originality and authenticity. The case retains its square pushers, polished bezel, and satin-finished sides, remaining in excellent, well-preserved condition.

The watch is fitted with a taupe crocodile leather strap — a perfect complement to the dial’s warm tones — and a stainless-steel buckle (non-original, period-appropriate).
