The Omega Speedmaster Professional Ref. 105.012-65 is one of the most historically significant Speedmasters, as it was the first reference officially worn on the Moon during the Apollo 11 mission in 1969. This model introduced the asymmetrical case with crown guards, a design that remains in the Speedmaster lineup today.
Apollo 11 Moon Landing: The 105.012 was worn by Buzz Aldrin during the first moonwalk in 1969 (Neil Armstrong left his in the Lunar Module as a backup).
NASA-Qualified for Spaceflight: The first Speedmaster officially designated as "Professional" due to its NASA flight qualification.
