Movado Datron HS360 “Sub-Sea” Chronograph – Rare Blue Dial – 38mm by 43mm – ca. 1970s
A highly collectible example of the iconic Movado Datron HS360 “Sub-Sea” Chronograph, dating from the early 1970s and presented in an exceptionally rare configuration featuring its original blue dial. While most Datrons were produced with black or silver/white dials, the blue variant is considerably rarer and greatly sought-after among collectors.
This piece remains in superb collector’s condition, with a beautifully preserved dial that has developed an attractive and even vintage patina. The dial is signed “T-Swiss Made-T”, confirming the presence of original tritium lume.
Equipped with the legendary caliber 3019 PHC, known as the Zenith El Primero — one of the world’s first high-frequency automatic chronograph movements — this model carries a key chapter of Swiss horological innovation. The HS360 (“High Speed 36,000 vph”) designation highlights its cutting-edge performance for the era.
The 38 mm stainless steel case retains sharp lines and excellent proportions, and is complemented by its original Movado stainless steel bracelet, enhancing both its authenticity and wrist presence.
A rare opportunity to acquire a historically important Movado chronograph in this highly desirable blue dial configuration and in such exceptional condition. A true gem for discerning vintage collectors.
