The Longines Ref. 8271-2 is one of the most desirable vintage chronographs from the brand’s golden era, especially prized for its use of the Caliber 30CH, a revered in-house column-wheel chronograph movement. Introduced in the 1940s, the 30CH was the successor to the also-celebrated 13ZN — both recognized for their superb mechanical construction and reliability.

The 8271-2 was produced during the 1960s, when chronograph wristwatches became increasingly popular for both professional and recreational use. It boasts a clean, balanced bi-compax design, often with a tachymeter or telemeter scale, and comes in a generously sized 38mm stainless steel case — a significant size for the era, making it especially appealing to modern collectors.
