A special gift for a connoisseur

Haas Neveux & Cie. was not a minor watchmaker—it was actually one of the more respected high-end Swiss manufactures of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The company was founded by brothers Léopold and Benjamin Haas in 1848 and operated from Geneva, Paris, Besançon, and later other international locations.

Some highlights:

  • Specialized in complicated watches, including quarter repeaters, chronographs, split-seconds chronographs, perpetual calendars, and precision chronometers.
  • Won important prizes at the Geneva Observatory and international exhibitions for precision timekeeping.
  • Produced many watches carrying the Poinçon de Genève (Geneva Seal), a mark reserved for high-quality Geneva watchmaking.
  • In 1884, when the next generation joined the business, the firm became Haas Neveux & Cie. ("neveux" means nephews).
  • They were known for technical innovation, including ultra-thin movements and even early jump-hour watches.

From a carefully preserved private Swiss collection, this exceptional pocket watch represent a rare opportunity to acquire authentic pieces of horological history.

Spanning different eras of watchmaking, this marvelous timepiece reflect a period when every movement was assembled and finished largely by hand, long before modern industrial production transformed the art of watchmaking.

This piece make part of these watches that were created by renowned makers who supplied noble families, royal courts and distinguished gentlemen of their time. Beyond their mechanical beauty, they are true witnesses of the evolution of craftsmanship, precision and decorative arts.

Many examples feature beautifully engraved cases, enamel work, finely decorated dials and elegant hand-finished movements, showcasing the extraordinary savoir-faire and artistic métiers of their era. Each watch carries its own charm, character and historical presence.

The watch has been carefully stored for decades in a Swiss bank vault and preserved in remarkably well-kept condition considering the age of this historical piece. As with all vintage and historical timepieces, a service is always recommended prior to regular use in order to ensure optimal functioning and preservation.

Whether you are a passionate collector, a lover of history, or simply someone seeking an object with soul and provenance, this pocket watch offers the unique chance to own a genuine fragment of horological heritage.
