This sculpture features two spherical forms suspended within a circular axis, resembling planets or celestial bodies in motion. It expresses themes of balance, time, and mechanical poetry — hallmarks of Viviani’s late-period sculptural work.
Vanni Viviani (1937-2002) was a renowned Italian artist born in Montecatini Terme, Tuscany. Though he gained recognition primarily as a painter and graphic artist, Viviani also explored sculpture, often combining surrealism with industrial and symbolic elements.
He was fascinated by mechanics, time, and transformation, which is reflected in his bronze and steel sculptures — typically featuring abstract forms, rotating structures, or objects in poetic tension.
Viviani exhibited widely across Italy and Europe, and his work is included in several public and private collections.
