Des Rogers was a collector of and dealer in Aboriginal art from the 1990's for over two decades. Based in Melbourne he made many trips to Alice Springs and outlying Aboriginal communities buying many works of art directly from artists. During this time he developed a close working relationship with the Possum Nungurrayi family as well as other Central Australian Aboriginal artists.

Jean Nampitjinpa (1956, Yuelamu – 2019) is a renown aboriginal artist, known for her impressionistic style, yet retaining strong ties to ancestral aboriginal Dreamings themes
Jean Hudson Nampitjinpa was brought up by her family in the traditional Law. She inherited Warlu (Fire) Dreamings from her father, Ngapa (Water) from her grandfather and Kanmarra (Bush Onion) from her mother.
At first she produced art using very traditional iconography, then her paintings took on a more impressionistic look.
