Four unique Rolex Cosmograph Daytona watches from the Four Seasons collection

The Rolex Four Seasons Daytona Collection Record Sale for $49.4M

In a remarkable moment for contemporary watch collecting, Rolex’s extraordinary “Four Seasons” collection of four unique Cosmograph Daytona watches achieved a combined £37.3 million, approximately $49.4 million, at Phillips’ charity auction in London on 28 September 2026. The four watches were offered individually, with the entire proceeds benefiting the Federer Foundation and Re:wild.

Rather than being conventional production Daytonas, the four pieces were created as unique expressions of Rolex’s gem-setting expertise. Each represents one of the four seasons through a carefully considered combination of precious metal, natural stone, coloured gemstones and diamonds. Rolex presented the project as part of its Perpetual Planet Initiative, in collaboration with Roger Federer and Leonardo DiCaprio.

Four watches, four distinct expressions

Spring — Ref. 126599 SAVL

The Spring Daytona is presented in 18 ct white gold, with a natural chrysoprase dial and counters in lepidolite. Purple sapphires define the hour markers and bezel, with 36 trapeze-cut sapphires weighing approximately 5.57 carats. The lugs and crown guards are set with 54 brilliant-cut diamonds. It achieved £6.8 million at auction.

Summer — Ref. 126595 SARO

The Summer model brings a warmer palette through an 18 ct Everose gold case, a turquoise dial and chronograph counters crafted from heart of ruby. Pink sapphires appear throughout the hour markers and bezel, complemented by 54 brilliant-cut diamonds on the lugs and crown guards. It achieved the highest result of the four at £10.3 million, approximately $13.65 million.

Autumn — Ref. 126598 TML

The Autumn Daytona is crafted in 18 ct yellow gold, with a richly coloured mookaite dial and chrysoprase counters. Green tourmalines form the hour markers and bezel, while 54 brilliant-cut diamonds decorate the lugs and crown guards. The watch sold for £10.2 million, approximately $13.5 million.

Winter — Ref. 126596 SABV

Completing the quartet, the Winter Daytona is the only example in 950 platinum. Its dial is made from blue opal, with counters in lapis lazuli. The bezel features 36 trapeze-cut sapphires arranged in a blue-to-fuchsia gradient, while diamonds are used for the hour markers and the lugs and crown guards. It achieved £10 million, approximately $13.2 million.

All four watches are powered by Rolex’s calibre 4131, with an approximately 72-hour power reserve and Superlative Chronometer certification.

A landmark auction for Rolex

The results were striking not simply because of the sums involved, but because of the nature of the offering. These were four unique Rolex watches offered directly by the manufacture through a dedicated charity auction, rather than rare vintage examples appearing on the secondary market.

Phillips reported the combined result of £37.3 million, describing it as the largest single consignment ever offered to a charity auction. There was no buyer’s premium, with the proceeds going to the two beneficiary organisations.

The Four Seasons project also illustrates the increasingly sophisticated intersection between high watchmaking, natural materials and high jewellery craftsmanship. Rolex used four different precious metals and an unusually expressive selection of natural stones—chrysoprase, lepidolite, turquoise, ruby, mookaite, lapis lazuli and blue opal—to create four watches that share the Daytona identity while remaining individually distinctive.

For collectors, the Four Seasons Daytona collection will be remembered as an unusual chapter in the history of the Cosmograph Daytona: four unique watches, four interpretations of time and nature, and a combined auction result of approximately $49.4 million for charity.
